My goal as an artist is to draw the viewer into the life, beauty and energy of the natural landscape. I want to elicit a visceral response so the viewer becomes intimate with the scene and receives the message I am conveying in my painting. That response maybe a complex overwhelming feeling of being one with nature, or a simple smile, a tear or a loving memory. I want the viewer to embrace the scene, not as one would a two dimensional photograph, but as a living, breathing entity. Each painting has it's own story to share with the viewer. I paint so that the viewer feels the sheer energy and raw magnitude of nature's unforgettable and astounding creations.
